Reno Air Racing Association National Championship Air Races |
Welcome to the World's Fastest Motor Sport!
Welcome to the home of the Reno National Championship Air Races, the only place in the World where you can see REAL AIR RACING by multiple classes of aircraft up close and personal. The Air Races have been run since 1964 near Reno, Nevada, USA, and are currently held at Reno Stead Field, about 15 miles North of Reno.
During five days of racing [Wednesday through Sunday] by six different classes of aircraft, racers reach speeds of over 500 mph - by far the fastest-moving machines in motorsports! The event also includes a world-class air show featuring top aerobatic performers, military and civil flight demonstrations, and a large display of static aircraft.
In addition to enjoying all of the flying, you can visit the pits and watch race teams work on their aircraft, browse any of the hundreds of participating vendors' booths, and enjoy a wide variety of food and beverages and other amenities during your visit.
Plentiful hotel accommodations in nearby Reno and Sparks [with low-fare round-trip shuttle service from downtown locations to/from the Air Races] are complemented by reserved RV parking right at Stead Field. And there's plenty of free auto parking on-site, too.
The next National Championship Air Races & Air Show will take place at Reno Stead Field 14 - 19 September 2010. The air show will feature the return of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. The Snowbirds are scheduled to fly every day Thursday through Sunday. Please plan to attend.
The Reno Air Racing Association, which organizes the event, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of authentic air racing.
