A sunrise and a sunset – every day begins and ends the same. For the Air Races, our first sunrise in Reno came in 1964. And our final sunset comes later this year.
The consistency of those 59 years – from the location to the aircraft to the volunteers and fans – brought a light to the lives of all involved; one so bright that it could never be extinguished. In fact, it’s a light that will show the path ahead as the Races find a new home.
A new sunrise awaits in a new destination, and there will be updates on that progress in the months ahead. There’s plenty of reasons to be excited about that new journey, as we continue to race for the future.
But the sun has yet to set on Reno. We still have a final page to write in this chapter, before we begin to write the next. Come join us for one more go around the course. One more week of thrills. One more race at Stead.
