The purpose of this page is to provide information for the Race Participants. Below is the 2018 schedule for reference. Please check back often for new information and updates.
1200 Friday, September 7 to 1200 – Saturday, September 8.
(All race aircraft must be in place at Reno Stead Airport no later than 1200 hours on the Saturday preceding Race Week.)
Pilot Registration: Pilot Registration starts at the Southwest corner of the Biplane and F1 Class Aircraft Hangar (A2 on the site map), just behind (south of) the briefing room. Class specific information will be available at a later time.
- Friday, September 8, 2018, 1300-1700
- Saturday, September 9, 2018, 0800-1200 and 1300-1700
Mass Pilot Inbrief: September 10, 2018 – Time: TBA
Practice Period: September 10, 2018
Qualification Period: September 10, 11, and 12 (am), 2018
Races: September 12 (pm), 13, 14, 15 and 16, 2018
Race Schedule: The National Championship Air Races most recent schedule will be updated daily during the races. A planning schedule will be posted approximately a week before racing begins. However, the schedule is subject to change due to weather, safety and flight operational considerations. A current copy of the schedule will be available during the pilot briefing at the beginning of each day.
Racer Entry & Application
The Entry Deadline is Friday, June 15, 2018, aircraft documents, pilot documents and additional paperwork deadline is Friday, June 22, 2018.
All entries received by Friday, June 15, 2018 will be considered “on-time”. Any entries accepted after Friday, June 15, 2018 will be considered conditional. All entries must submit a fully completed entry package no later than Friday, June 15, 2018 to retain their status. (A completed entry package must include all required Entry Information, Pilot/Alt Pilot (if applicable) information, Aircraft information, and photos as identified in the 2018 Entrant’s Checklist.
