Meet the 2026 Jet Racers
The Fastest Class with Speeds Exceeding 500 miles Per Hour
The Jet Class brings turbine-powered speed, precision flying and unmistakable sound to the National Championship Air Races.
Introduced in 2002, the class originally featured match racing between Czech-built Aero L-39 Albatros jets. The field has since expanded to include aircraft such as the L-29 Delfin, BAC Jet Provost, PZL TS-11 Iskra and de Havilland Vampire.
In 2026, Jet Class racing enters an exciting new chapter in Roswell with the introduction of a new high-speed racecourse designed specifically for the fastest aircraft in the field
The Jet Class Mach Course
The fastest class at the National Championship Air Races is getting a course of its own.
The new Jet Class Mach Course has been developed to showcase the speed, performance and precision of Jet Class aircraft at Roswell Air Center. Its expanded layout gives these powerful aircraft room to race while creating a distinct new experience for pilots and spectators.

In 2026, this course also welcomes the returning Unlimited Class, bringing the thunder and history of unlimited air racing to New Mexico for the first time.
